Andrew Sharrock
Owner, Red Seal Electrician, Class B FSR
Was it an early fascination with lightning storms growing up on Denman Island that influenced Andrew’s career choice? Or maybe it was his love of the outdoors and desire to use solar and off-grid power for energy. Whatever the case, Andrew is proud to own and operate Island Electric.
With a background in electrical engineering, Andrew received his electrician training through Vancouver’s Camosun College in 2008 and hasn’t looked back since. His work experience has ranged from working in water treatment plants to building condos in Victoria and Fort McMurray. His love of outdoor recreation eventually pulled him back to the Comox Valley, where he worked with an off-grid power company for four years before taking the plunge and starting Island Electric.
Andrew loves both the challenges provided by unique electrical projects and the opportunity to see projects through from beginning to end. He is always expanding his knowledge and takes regular training to stay current with new technology. He is a Red Seal Electrician and Class B Field Safety Representative (FSR). As well, he’s a trained Leviton Home Automation installer and has completed several solar and off-grid courses with California’s Solar Living Institute.
As an independent business owner, Andrew doesn’t get much time to recreate. When he does, though, he jumps at the chance to head out camping on his dirt bike or spend time fishing and gardening.
